Welcome to Regina Coeli School,
As Principal, I work closely with all of you to provide the students of Regina Coeli with an education that includes supporting and enhancing the whole child. I had the opportunity to work with several teachers from Regina in my past position as an instructional coach for the NURTURES grant at the University of Toledo and know that I am truly blessed and honored to be a part of such a dedicated, caring staff that has a strong love for Catholic education.
Prior to being an instructional coach, I was a physical education and science teacher at Lial Catholic School. I have also taught physical education, health, computer, and middle school science in several schools in the Toledo and Detroit areas. I also had the pleasure of teaching Early Childhood Science Summer Institute at the University of Toledo and Nutrition at Davis College. I obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Education at the University of Dayton, a Master’s Degree from Wayne State University in Detroit, and recently completed my Ph.D. in curriculum and instruction at the University of Toledo. I have a wonderful and loving husband, Frank, and am a mother of twins. My son, Tanner, will be heading off to study marine biology at the University of North Carolina Wilmington, and my daughter, Kennedy, will be attending Butler University and studying sports media. I am an avid tennis player and enjoy traveling and spending time with my family.
My goal as your principal is to provide the leadership to help facilitate a collaborative community where all staff, students, and parents feel safe and are treated with dignity, kindness, and respect. I want to support all of our teachers through their journey of becoming the best teachers possible by helping them continue to develop and improve their instructional practices to benefit all of our unique, amazing students. I want Regina Coeli to provide an educational program that engages all students, challenges them academically, and promotes learning and exploration of new concepts and ideas. More importantly, I want us to teach the Gospel values through the entire curriculum so we can develop the whole child and teach our students to be disciples of Christ, who are prepared to serve God and their community. I am excited that we have the opportunity at Regina Coeli to touch the lives of many children and to teach them about the love of Jesus.
